This is just a prompt from someone who has seen huge changes in the amount of sand on the beaches of Porthcawl.  Please assess dredging impact.  I’ve watched the need to build a Rest Bay slipway and extend it twice to get over exposed rocks/stones.  Back in the 70s and 80s the sand level was much higher (photos prove my point).  While I know sands can move, I’m concerned the presence of exposed rock clusters at low tide is due to dredging.  The presence of exposed rocks on Rest Bay’s main beach (in front of the lifeguard’s hut) is particularly worrying as this is a risk to surfers for sure (and something we never had to worry about in my youth)
